   I have been making mosaics for about 12 years now. My love for vintage and retro patterned plates is very evident in my work. Rescuing these plates from impending doom and recycling them into beautiful art brings me great joy. I often go on treasure hunts at local thrift stores, flea markets and tag sales. It is at these places I find the most interesting plates, platters and random objects to use in my art. The mirrors and art panels in this slide show all have been made with recycled, hand cut, vintage plates.     In my mixed media work, I am able to create using many of my most favorite mediums. Part mosaic, part collage with a little painting mixed in too. There is not much that I won't take apart, glue down, cut up or decorate. My collection of random objects, jewelry bits, pieces and doo dads is ever growing.    Fun retro & vintage tile ~ cool colors and patterns. My Mini Mosaic Mirrors have been one of my best selling collections for over 5 years now. Just as the name implies, the mirrors in this collection are small. At 5 inch square overall, they are designed and made with the same care, detail and crafts-womanship as my larger pieces.    Working in a small format has always been interesting to me. I love creating a cohesive design in a tiny space that delivers just as much an impact visually as a larger one. It is also my belief that art should not be confined to the walls in our home or office. You should surround yourself with beautiful, handmade things that make you happy whether it is on your fridge, your boring file cabinet at work or even wearing the art around your neck or on your jacket.
