"Before I learned how to play with glass, I made original design quilts. As a result, quilt-like elements frequently appear in my work in addition to colors, textures and patterns from nature that inspire me. My work tends to break with tradition in my use of varied tile sizes within the same mosaic- I like the movement and interest that result."
