The medium of mosaics from the time I was young interested me. When I’d see a mosaic, the thought of creating one would linger. This thought would come and go until as an adult I pursued it. After making my first piece, I went full force ahead and set up a glass studio in my little apartment where the journey continues.

At the moment I think I have been fine-tuning my senses as I rely upon nature as my teacher. I constantly observe colors, patterns, and movement found in each season. I like the challenge of capturing what I see.

I am also drawn to the slower process of creating an image by carefully placing each little glass shard until it reaches full bloom. With every mosaic I find myself learning more about colors, placement, cutting, and how various shades of grout contribute to the overall flow of the image.

I love the varied styles of mosaic art and am amazed by the beautiful images that people create in glass. It is a medium that I love to explore and offers me a way to develop, share, and be inspired. I often find that others who work in this medium feel the same way.
