My name is Joanne and I live in the tiny state of Rhode Island. My art interest began as a teenager when my parents enrolled me in painting classes. I am infatuated with colored glass, and my interest in mosaics began approximately 12 years ago while I was taking stained glass classes at a local studio. I haven’t turned back since. I work a full-time job, and I have a very supportive husband and two ‘young adult’ boys.

I create mosaics during my free time in my back yard studio. Mosaics have become a passion for me, and I find it very relaxing and rewarding. My tesserae has primarily been glass, however, I have begun incorporating other things into my work, to include millefiori, beads and found objects. Nature inspires me and I like to work with celestial designs, as well as anything that incorporates swirls!

am excited to become part of the Etsy Mosaic Artist Street Team and hope that this will inspire me, as well as encourage me to work even harder creating mosaics. There are some extremely talented artists here, and I am happy to be included as one of them.
