PRIM*GARDEN*DAFFODILS*FLORAL*BOUQUET
Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Spring Offerings. Here we have 5 Primitive Folk Art Grungy Daffodils. This arrangement would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter, or placed on a bureau, table or halltree. Each bloom measures approximately 9-12" tall and 4-5"wide. They would look great in your country farmhouse and would also make a wonderful house-warming gift that is everlasting. I have created this floral piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. Each daffodil is cut from muslin and hand-stitched with a gathered circle center surrounded by blooming pointed petals. They have been paint-washed in buttercup yellow paint and aged with my grubby solution of coffee-vanilla-cinnamon, baked and sprinkled with dry cinnamon. Each long stem is formed with twisted rusty tin wire and the tightly curled end sprouts from the center of the daffodil. The glass vase is not included in the auction. I can imagine these blooms arranged in your rusty tin, green glass or quilted container. This piece has been lovingly made by me using a pattern designed by Tennesee Ridge Primitives. This design will come to you dated, signed and tagged with my own label "Collectibles by Joan" which states "The Handcrafting and Time Invested in this Piece are its Own Mark of Quality".

The facial markings are cut from barn red cotton and adhered to the head while the cone and wattle are made separately from looped strips of barn red cotton and sewn into the seams of the head. The sewn-in barn red wings are quilted with sewn-in strips of matching colored coordinating fabric are frayed along the edges, wet and dried in a dryer to make them curly. The fluffy tail is formed from several coordinating fabric strips, wet and dried curly and sewn into the seams of the rear of the rooster. Black beads were stitched on for the eyes. A wooden block was cut, sanded, stained and drilled for the dowel to form the Makedo base. Natural excelsior was adhered around the base of the dowel that is inserted into the bottom of the rooster. I have given the Chick a primitive tag that I have coffee-stained and inked the edges with brown pigma ink and adhered a green print background with an image of a colorful rooster that says "Rise-N-Shine". PRIM JEAN POCKET CHICKEN & YOYO FLORAL
Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Prim Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Folk Art Chicken and matching Grapevine Watering Can blooming with Farm Fabric Yoyo Flowers. This set would display nicely as a centerpiece, shelf sitter, or placed on a bureau, table or halltree. The chicken measures 13" tall, 10" wide and 5" deep. The yoyo floral measures 13" tall and 11"wide and 5" deep. This set would be perfect for your farmhouse kitchen and would also make a wonderful house-warming or bridal shower gift. The Chick's head and wings are sewn from muslin and her lower body is sewn from recycled jeans and weighted with sand. The cone and wattle are sewn from barn red flannel and the beak and webbed feet and legs from a mottled golden print. I have needle sculpted the wing's feathers and blushed the edges. The pocket of the jeans holds natural exelsior and three wooden chicken eggs painted light ivory. Black beads were used for the eyes, the beak nose is stitched with black floss, and her cheeks were blushed. Her scarf is torn from a Debbie Mumm collectible checkerboard print in tan, red, cream and black and tied into a knot off to one side of her head. Her legs can dandle from a shelf or she can sit as shown. I have given the Chick a primitive tag that I have coffee-stained and inked the edges with brown pigma ink and adhered a green print background and an image of a colorful chicken that says "Fresh Eggs". The tag is attached with a rusty safety pin to the scarf. For the Yoyo Floral arrangement, each flower is hand-stitched into a nostalgic "yoyo" fabric circle, reminiscent of the olde fashioned yoyo quilts. Each flower is made from a different, but coordinating farm print fabric in rich burgundy, cream, and black to match the Chick's scarf. I have sewn a large cream button with red floss at the center of each flower. The fabric leaves are sewn from a hunter green cotton fabric layered with interfacing and wire is inserted to make them poseable. The wire stems are wrapped in floral tape and then anchored into floral foam covered with spanish moss. The nine yoyo flowers are arranged in a natural grapevine twig watering can wrapped with a coordinating solid checkerboard fabric bow that is torn and tied into a big bow in the front, embellished with a large red vintage-style lucite button. The chicken was lovingly made by me using a pattern designed by Cotton Ginnys. The Yoyo Floral was also made by me as my own concept and design and no pattern was used. This design will come to you dated, signed and tagged with my own label "Collectibles by Joan" which states "The Handcrafting and Time Invested in this Piece are its Own Mark of Quality".

PRIM GRUNGY DAISIES WALL POCKET FLORAL
Welcome Prim Friends, and thank you for stopping by to view my new Summer Offerings. Here we have a Primitive Folk Art Rusty Tin Wall Pocket blooming with Grungy Daisy Flowers. This piece would display nicely as a wall hanging anywhere in your home. It measures approximately 18" tall and 11"wide and 5" deep. This would look great in your country farmhouse and would also make a wonderful house-warming gift that is everlasting. I have created this floral piece in the primitive fashion to give it that time-worn look. Each daisy center is cut from an old quilt, paint washed in antique gold and hand-stitched with floss onto clipped onasburg petals that have been paint-washed in antique white paint. The daisies were then aged with my grubby solution of coffee-vanilla-cinnamon, baked and sprinkled with more cinnamon. The fabric leaves are torn from onasburg, paint washed ivy green, grubbied with the stain solution, and are knotted around the stems made of tree branches. Each stem is then anchored into floral foam and covered with green floral moss. I have cut a scarf from cheesecloth that I have aged with the coffee-vanilla-cinnamon solution and tied it around the rusty bucket into a bow at the front. I have given this piece a primitive hang tag soaked in the grunging solution and baked. An image of a vintage girl holding a bouquet of yellow daisies leaning over a wooden fence is adhered to the tag. I have bordered the image with fine gold German Glass Glitter to give it a bit of sparkle. This piece has been lovingly made by me using a pattern designed by Tennesee Ridge Primitives. This design will come to you dated, signed and tagged with my own label "Collectibles by Joan" which states "The Handcrafting and Time Invested in this Piece are its Own Mark of Quality".
